Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make an appointment?
To schedule an appointment with us, please call 0448 417 997 or email willowchildpsychology@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can submit an inquiry on our website, located on the Contacts page. We will endeavour to reply to all forms of communication within 48 hours.
Do I need a referral?
A referral is not essential for accessing psychology support. However, speaking with your child's GP or paediatrician to obtain a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) will allow you to access the Medicare rebate for sessions.
How much is the Medicare rebate?
The Medicare rebate for psychology sessions is currently $93.350 per session.
How long is each session?
A standard session runs for 50 minutes.
What is the process for accessing support?
After making contact with the clinic, the psychologist will arrange an intake session with the parent(s)/carer(s) to be attended without their child. This session allows parent(s)/carer(s) to discuss their child's current challenges and needs and collaborate with the psychologist to develop therapetic goals for their child. During this session, ongoing appointments will be made for the child to attend.
What are my payment options?
Payments for all services are due on the day of the appointment. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), you are able to access the Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. We also offer services to clients with either plan-managed or self-managed funding under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Please note that we cannot accept NDIA managed clients as we are not an NDIS provider. Additionally, your health insurance provider may offer reimbursement for psychology services if it is included in your Extras package.
Do you bulk bill?
Unfortunately, our clinic does not offer bulk billing.
What if I need to re-schedule or cancel my appointment?
We understand that there may be times where you are unable to make your appointment. As a courtesy, we ask that you provide as much notice as possible prior to your appointment to let us know that you need to cancel or re-schedule your appointment. When less than 24 hours notice is provided, please note that 25% of the scheduled fee will be charged for a cancellation or rescheduling of the appointment, 50% of the scheduled fee will be charged for a cancellation made on the day of the appointment, and 75% of the scheduled fee will be charged when there is a failure to attend the appointment without notice.
